ORCA Smooth FKM Rubber Line Sport Dive Watch Strap With Quick Release Bars In 7 Colours – 20mm & 22mm

There is a really strong vintage vibe on the “ORCA” line which is one of the latest lines of FKM sport straps with quick release bars. Made from FKM (Fluoroelastomer) which is a class of man-made rubber of great density but soft in touch, made to stand harsh conditions, such as high temperature, chemicals etc., it comes in 2 sizes (20mm & 22mm) and 7 colours (black, blue navy, blue light (mint), brown, green, orange and red). Handsome dimensions at 95/125mm including the premium satin steel buckle and 3.50mm thickness at the lugs which tapers down to 2.50mm at the tail. Width-wise it tapers down by 2mm, so 20/18mm and 22/20mm. These are inspired by the vintage Isofrane straps of the 1960’s (last photo). Details on the FKM material: For those who don’t know, FKM stands for Fluoroelastomer, which is a class of man-made rubber of great density but soft in touch, made to stand harsh conditions, such as high temperature, chemicals etc. For example, this type of rubber is often used in aerospace and nautical industries, which speaks a lot about its quality. To name a few, some of the characteristics of this material are: excellent resistance to chemicals (oxidation, acids, fuels), astonishing temperature durability (from – 60°C to 225°C ), great stability in all conditions, long lasting etc. The material wass first developed by American company DuPont, under the brand name Viton®. The same company developed Neoprene™, which became so popular that it became common name for polychloroprene.
